Erin has served on the Board of Directors since 2016 and is also the Adviser of the Bird Club at UW-Green Bay. She works at the UW-Green Bay Cofrin Center for Biodiversity on several bird, wildlife, and habitat-related projects and manages data.
Dorothy has enjoyed serving on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance for 30 years in various capacities, and as a member for many years prior to that. She retired from Respiratory Therapy/Pulmonary Function in 2014. The natural world and environment have always been important to Dorothy, and she enjoys volunteering for a spectrum of different projects and organizations beyond NEW Bird Alliance as well.
Kari has been on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance since 2016 and also serves as the file & website manager. In her professional career she works for The Nature Conservancy in Sturgeon Bay as their Door Peninsula Land Steward where she manages over 5,000 acres of natural areas and important bird habitat.
Jade joined the Board in 2018 and presently serves as the Newsletter Coordinator and Social Media/Outreach Specialist. Jade is a Masters Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where she studies Environmental Science and Policy. She has experience in habitat restoration, fisheries management, and wildlife conservation.
Amy Carrozzino-Lyon has been on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance since 2017 and currently serves as the Education & Outreach Coordinator. In her professional life at UW-Green Bay, Amy works on Green Bay coastal wetland restoration projects and research with local conservation partners.
Tom has served on the Board of Directors since 2017 and has been researching birds in the Green Bay area since 2013. He received his Master's in Environmental Science and Policy from UW-Green Bay in 2016 researching shorebirds and terns in Lower Green Bay. Professionally, Tom is the Wisconsin Conservation Manager at Audubon Great Lakes.
Tom has served on the Board of Directors since 2017 and has been researching birds in the Green Bay area since 2013. He received his Master's in Environmental Science and Policy from UW-Green Bay in 2016 researching shorebirds and terns in Lower Green Bay. Professionally, Tom is the Wisconsin Conservation Manager at Audubon Great Lakes. He leads Audubon’s wetland restoration in the St. Louis River Estuary and works to build bird conservation partnerships for Audubon in Green Bay and across other Important Bird Areas in the state. He enjoys local birding as well as feeding the birds in his Suamico backyard.
Janet has been on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance since 2006 and currently serves as a Political Advocate. She worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for over 33 years including 22 years as Supervisor of the Green Bay Ecological Services Field Office. Her interest in birds started at the backyard feeder at a young age and develop
Janet has been on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance since 2006 and currently serves as a Political Advocate. She worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for over 33 years including 22 years as Supervisor of the Green Bay Ecological Services Field Office. Her interest in birds started at the backyard feeder at a young age and developed into a long term commitment to natural resources conservation. She is a member of several other conservation organizations as well, serving in some additional board and officer positions.
Mabel has been on the Board of NEW Bird Alliance since 2023. She recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a bachelor's degree in biology. She works for the Lake Michigan Bird Observatory as an Assistant Biologist.
Emily joined the NEWBA Board in Fall 2024. She is a Fall 2023 graduate of UW-Green Bay where she earned a bachelor's in history and took environmental history and First Nations Studies courses. She has worked on the Oneida Bird Monitoring Program since 2022 as the data coordinator, and more recently, a breeding bird survey conductor. Em
